Fully fund public education

Utah ranks 50th in the nation for per-pupil spending — dead last, in a state with one of the strongest economies in the country. That gap shows up every day in our classrooms: teachers stretched across more students than they can properly reach, and school budgets that can't keep pace with basic needs.

I support raising teacher pay to at least the regional median so Utah stops losing talented educators to neighboring states, and restoring meaningful class-size caps so every student gets real attention, not just a seat in an overcrowded room.

Just as important is protecting every dollar already earmarked for classrooms from getting diverted into administrative overhead or unrelated line items. If the Legislature commits money to public education, that money needs to actually reach the classroom — full stop.
